All That Is Left Behind
April is the cruelest month…
I had the wonderful opportunity to adapt and direct the poetry of TS Eliot into an immersive piece. Effectively we build a city block in a black box theater. One thing which we wanted to investigate was the cacophony in Eliot’s poetry, and the result was having up to four plots happening simultaneously in the space, timed with one another to end and re-converge in large group scenes.
Stripping the language into many voices, identifying plot lines and character, stringing them all together, building dances.... what came about was a choose-your-own adventure of modernist poetry and movement.
